How to find me at SXSW 2010
I’ve had an intense amount of people asking me how to find me, or meet with me at SXSW 2010. This is a list of ways to find, track, randomly see, stalk or lurk where I will be while attending the conference.

So, if you want to meet up, that’s how to get ahold of me. For those who have my phone number, feel free to use that as well.
Hope to see you there.
Why I’m going to SXSW
I’ve read a lot of recent complaint/opinion posts about SXSWi this year. Well, actually in general. So, in light of these flowering opinion pieces, I thought it was just appropriate to add my own.
So, here it is:
I’m going this year because, unlike a lot of “tech pundits” who seem to think it’s not worth it, or a waste of time, money, etc…, I actually bypass the glamour and fanboy moshpit everyone is quick to list as their “top reason” they don’t want to attend (even though we fucking know they will, and they will tweet™* every second about how awesome it is.). I go to learn, to meet people, network, get wasted, eat, listen, sweat and laugh, waste money, share ideas and more times than I probably should, get in trouble.
The whole SXSW event is a huge orgy of ridiculous shit happening at every hour of the day. The whole city of Austin participates, regardless of actually being involved in the event. I attended so many off-conference events with people who could care less about being at SXSW-related anything.
Granted, Austin is a place full of awesome local culture. It’s pretty much bad ass all of the time. But, during SXSW, it’s amplified times infinity. There’s something for everyone. Even if you don’t buy an event badge, you will have an incredible time. Actually, if you’re just going for the event side-products, fuck the badge. You would be too consumed in everything else to even try to participate in the conference events.
I bought an early bird interactive badge for half the price of the door. I used layover vouchers from Frontier to buy my flight. So in essence, I’m going to spend around $500 bucks to fly to Austin, hang out with friends, get blasted with rock stars, learn about new tech and say I went to SXSW willingly, with no reservations.
If you don’t think SXSW is worth it, don’t fucking go.
On a lighter note; I seriously cannot wait to see my friends from the Southwest and Midwest. I’ve only been gone from the area for around 4 months, but I could definitely use some west coast detox.
So yeah, that’s why I’m going to SXSW. I’ll see you there.
